Details Estonian euro coins feature a single design for all eight coins. This is a design by Lembit Lohmus and features a contour of Estonia together with the word Eesti (Estonia) and twelve stars, symbolic of the EU, surrounding the map.

The design raised a great criticism during 2010 as many people started to protest against the design of Estonian euro coins asking to change the initial idea and follow EU Member States on assigning different symbols to different coins
