Details The King’s Double Portrait is the final part in the coin trilogy to commemmorate the change of rule, together with the Double Portrait and the new euro coins. The 2 euro King’s Double Portrait features King Willem-Alexander as reigning monarch in front. The design was created by Pannos Goutzemisis of Royal Dutch Mint.

At the center of the coin is the portrait of His Royal Highness Willem-Alexander, superimposed on the portrait of former Queen Beatrix. Around the arched inscription "Willem-Alexander Koning der Nederlanden - Prinses Beatrix der Nederlanden" and the year of issue "2014". On the outer edge 12 five-pointed stars representing the European Union.
