Details Bernardino di Betto, called Pintoricchio or Pinturicchio was an Italian painter of the Renaissance. He acquired his nickname, Pintoricchio ("little painter"), because of his small stature, and he used it to sign some of his works.

The coin depicts a scene from his painting "Christ among the Doctors". It was completed in 1501 and it is an example of a religious painting which demonstrates the technique of fresco.
