Details The coin is dedicated to the 200th Anniversary of Corps of Gendarmerie of the Vatican City. The State of the Vatican City possesses two armed forces. The the Swiss Guard, famous for their colorful uniforms, and the Vatican Gendarmerie using the classic blue kepi. The body of the Vatican police, the Gendarmerie, was born in 1816 by the will of Pius VII, after the Congress of Vienna, with the name of the Papal Carabinieri Corps.

The national side shows a Vatican guard in front of the dome of St. Peter's Basilica. At the top, in semicircle, figure the legend "CORPO GENDARMERIA 1816-2016 DELLA." At the bottom, in semicircle, the name of the issuing country 'CITTÀ DEL VATICANO' appears. To the left of figure why the mintmark "R" and, right, the designer's name, "D. Longo. "
