Details The Official Blister 2004 is dedicated to 140 years of the Belgian Red Cross. The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement is an international humanitarian movement with approximately 97 million volunteers worldwide which started to protect human life and health. The Belgian Red Cross was established in 1864 by Doctor Andrea Wegner and has its headquarters in Brussels.

The blister contains the 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50 cent coins and 1, 2 euros, as well as a commemorative silver medal. The Belgian euro coins feature only a single design for all eight coins: the portrait or effigy of King Albert II of Belgium and his royal monogram (a capital 'A' underneath a crown). Also part of the design by Jan Alfons Keustermans (Director of the Municipal Academy of Fine Arts of Turnhout) are the 12 stars of the EU and the year of imprint.
