Obverse of Germany Official Blister - Mintmark D 2006
Details The 2006 annual German BU set contains the 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50 cent coins and 1, 2 euros (unc), as well as a commemorative 2 euro coin issued in 2006, celebrating the Federal states series (Holstentor in Lubeck).

The Holsten Gate marks off the western boundary of the old center of the Hanseatic city of Lubeck. Because its two round towers and arched entrance are so well known it is regarded today as a symbol of this German city, and together with the old city center (Altstadt) of Lubeck it has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987.

German euro coins have three separate designs for the three series of coins. The 1, 2 and 5 cent coins were designed by Professor Rolf Lederbogen, the design for the 10, 20 and 50 cent coins is by the hand of Reinhart Heinsdorff and the 1 and 2 euro coins were done by Heinz Hoyer and Sneschana Russewa-Hoyer.
