Latvia, as one of new European Union (EU) Member States, had the option of choosing the most appropriate time schedule for the euro changeover.
The Mint of Stuttgart in Germany won the tender to mint the Latvian euro coin, thus the Latvian euro coins carry the mint mark F.
The folk maiden is depicted on the national side of the Latvian one-euro and two-euro coins, whereas the 50-, 20- and 10-euro cent coins feature the great coat of arms of Latvia and the 5-, 2- and 1-euro-cent coins the small coat of arms of Latvia. |
