Details The coin celebrates an important milestone in the history of the Maltese aviation: the centenary of the first flight from Malta, which took place on February 13, 1915, when Captain Kilmer took off from Grand Harbour on a seaplane transported by ship. The plane splashed down in the harbor after flying for 55 minutes.

The coin depicts the seaplane of captain Kilmer and a highlight of the Grand Harbour in the background.
