Lithuania
- Explanation: Official name: Republic of Lithuania. (Part of the former Soviet Union) Monetary unit: 1 ruble = 100 kopecks. The talonas was introduced May 1 1992, to circulate in parallel, and valued at par with the Russian ruble. Lithuania left the ruble area on October 1, 1992 when the talons was made sole legal tender and was allowed to float. On June 25, 1993 the talonas was replaced by the litas at a fixed conversion rate of 100 talonai per 1 litas. The litas was established as the official currency on July 20, 1993, and pegged to the U.S. dollar at a rate of 4 to 1 on April 1, 1994. Monetary unit: 1 litas (plural litai) = 100 centai. The Euro was launched on January 1, 1999 and became the sole legal tender on January 1, 2015. The fixed rate of exchange is 3,4528 Lithuanian litas to 1 Euro.
