The Diner is the original coin of Andorra and was issued by the Servei d'Emissions Episcopal (the Andorran Mint), which was founded in June 1977 by His Excellency Rvda, the Episcopal Prince. Since its establishment the Servei d'Emissions Episcopal has followed a policy of emitting really exclusive coins destined to reach collectors worldwide. The coins' exclusivity and value exist in their design, minting and the quality of their finish, thus adding value to collections.

Andorra has recently received various awards for the quality and beauty of its coins; among them is highlighted the 1993 "Coin of the Year" award won by our 20 Diners ECU coin depicting St.George, in the Most Innovative Coinage Concept category.

This international recognition spurs us on to work on the minting of pieces with high numismatic value, being always conscious that the Andorran coins are excellent ambassadors of the culture and history of our country.
